The story behind

In 2010, I bought a book by Veronique Vial called “Paris Naked“. While the publisher Schirmer / Mosel writes, the contrast between architecture in stone and the flesh of the body creates a mesmerizing play between voyeurism and exhibitionism. I found most mesmerizing the contrast between the well-known places which are crowded at day by tourist and the intimacy of the pictures done by Veronique at night.

I think this is an issue to most of the touristic places in the world. They are crowded almost around the clock by tourist. Especially places with a nightlife like Paris. Even at night tourists are hurrying with their trolley suitcase through the alleys. In some old towns quite a noise.

In 2017, I started then to work at a Word Cultural Heritage City. All day crowded by tourists. Sometime there are 10 groups with a guide at the same spot. A spot where inhabitants have to walk by to get their groceries. But tourists won’t care about it, they just want to hear what the guide is telling them. And they don’t want to be disturbed by inhabitants.

And well, what a contrast when I had to go one morning to the ATM close to one of this tourist hot spots. It was 6 am, a time I’m usually still at home. No single person was there. Right at that moment I remembered Veronique Vial’s book. And I started my first naked project – Bamberg naked.

And now, in January 2020, I was for 3 days at Prague. For a shooting with a very wonderful model, Pavlína. Since Prague is a wonderful place I have to come back. I started to think about a second project – Prague naked. And here we go!
